Beaumarchais pulled away from the field in stylish fashion in a one-mile maiden race at Santa Anita on June 3 to score by 5 1/2-lengths under a hand ride from Joe Talamo.
The 3-year-old colt is already the fourth winner in the first three of June for Big Drama, who ranks in the top-10 on the 2016 Second Crop Sire list with 22 winners to date.
Owned by Arnold Zetcher and trained by Simon Callaghan, Beaumarchais was a $150,000 buy at the 2015 OBS March Selected Sale of 2-year-olds. Bred in Florida by Palm Beach Racing LLC, Beaumarchais is a half-brother to stakes winner Josdesanimaux. The well-bred colt’s second dam is Jostle, winner of the Alabama S. (G1) and Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).
