Biggest Drama romped to a 5 ¼-length maiden win Saturday at Gulfstream to become the third winner for his sire Big Drama, who is Florida’s second-ranked First Crop sire.
Biggest Drama had some competition from Street Brilliant for the first half mile, but put that foe away while on the turn and drew off for the stress-free victory going 5 ½-furlongs over the fast main track.
With three winners from just five starters, Big Drama has one of the highest strike rates of any first year sire. The champion sprinter and winner of over $2.7 million stood this year at Bridlewood Farm for $10,000 live foal.
Biggest Drama is owned by Carlos Oyola, who picked the dark bay or brown colt out of this year’s OBS March 2-year-old sale. Biggest Drama is the third winner out of Slew Gin Beauty, a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Don Six.
