First-time starter Tribal Drama strutted to a 5 ¾-length victory in a five furlong maiden special weight affair for 2-year-olds at Gulfstream Park.
The winner is the fifth in just eight starters for his sire Big Drama, tying the Bridlewood stallion for the most winners by any freshman sire. The latest winner moved Big Drama to the top of the Florida First-Crop sire list and in the top five among all North American freshman sires.
After an early tussle in the first furlong, Tribal Drama drew off in hand at the top of the stretch and coasted home an easy winner in :58.78 seconds for the five furlongs on the main track.
Tribal Drama picked up $29,000 for the win; the bay colt is owned by Hallmarc Racing LLC and was bred in Florida by Family Broodmares III.
