Though Corfu has just one yearling cataloged in the Fasig-Tipton July yearling sale, the filly from the first crop of the Bridlewood stallion is receiving plenty of pre-sale hype.
“The Corfu filly is a freak,” consignor Chris Baccari said of hip 59. “She is just a straight racehorse, in my opinion. Corfu is a horse that not everybody is familiar with, but she is an extremely special filly.”
The chestnut filly is out of Stay on Track, whose three foals include the stakes winner Karen’s Silk. Stay on Track is a sister to a quartet of stakes winners, topped by Bushfire, a three-time Grade 1 winner of $802,507.
Corfu, who entered stud at Bridlewood in 2014, was the fastest winner ever of the Saratoga Special (G2) and also finished second in the Futurity S. (G2) at Belmont Park.
The Fasig-Tipton auction begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12.
