Yesbyjimminy’s leading 2-year-old Flay Mignon got her second career stakes win Saturday at Monmouth Park with a dominating win in the $60,000 Jersey Juvenile S. Yesbyjimminy if Florida’s only freshman sire with a stakes winner from his first crop.
Ridden by Paco Lopez, Flay Mignon covered the six furlongs over a fast main track in 1:11 flat to secure her third win in four starts, including a win in the $78,000 Colleen S. two months ago over the same track.
“I’m just glad to be here in New Jersey and to have a nice horse like this,” said winning trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. “She’s one of the nicest 2-year-olds in the barn. She’s shown how good she is and that she can run on anything.”
Plesa trains Flay Mignon for his wife Laurie, also the filly’s breeder.
Inner Goddess is Yesbyjimminy’s fourth winner
Inner Goddess gave Yesbyjimminy his fourth winner from his first crop with a victory in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight affair Saturday at Gulfstream Park. The 2-year-old filly, like Flay Mignon, is trained by Eddie Plesa and owned and bred by the trainer along with David Melin.
