Big Drama’s emerging 3-year-old filly R Kinsley Doll registered her second consecutive stakes win Saturday in the $150,000 Jewel Princess S. at Gulfstream Park. The filly is Big Drama’s leading earner of 2016 and is one of five stakes horses by Big Drama, who ranks among the top Third-Crop sires both in Florida and nationally.
As she did last month in winning the $150,000 Three Ring S., R Kinsley Doll rallied strongly in the final furlong, winning by a neck in 1:24.75 on the wet main track surface.
“I needed her to switch leads,” winning trainer Ralph Ziadie said. “The last time when she switched leads she had another gear, and when she finally did it was all good. The speed today has been holding so i was a little nervous there about that. That Ballet Diva is a nice filly and I knew that she wasn’t going to put in a clunker like she did last time. I just told (jockey) Tyler (Gaffalione), ‘Ride your race, sit back, make that one run,’ and he did. Tyler’s great.”
The Jewel Princess victory was R Kinsley Doll’s third success in nine starts, and took her earnings to $238,085. She is owned by Averill Racing LLC and Silver Oak Stable LLC.
